About Me

You can read some of my interests and such under Personal Profile, but I thought it would be nice to have a page that I could get a little more detailed, descriptive, and explanatory on :) .

Spiritual Life:

The most important thing about me is that when I was twelve years old, I gave my heart and soul to the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. Since then, it has been my goal to lead the life of a Christian - to be like Christ. I pray that I may be an encouragement to other believers and a Godly witness to those who do not know the Lord as Savior.

One of my favorite Scripture passages is Ps. 107:8-22

"Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, [being] bound in affliction and iron;
Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and [there was] none to help.
Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.
Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses.
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered [them] from their destructions.
Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men!
And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing."

Family and Country Life:

I live in the South (Horray for Dixie ;D !) on a small piece of country farmland. We don't have many animals right now. Our faithful, beloved dog was stolen (we think), our last cat dissappeared around Thanksgiving, and we're down to a chicken population of six (one mixed rooster, three Rhode Island Red hens, and two Arocana hens, one of which we raised and is very sweet). I've always loved horses, and always wanted one, but for this reason or that have never had one. We are surrounded by cow pastures occupied by a cousin's bovine lively-hood, the herds of which provide a country smell, and lots of laughs at their antics ;D !

I have one sister, Trissy, and have always wanted more brothers and sisters. But our parents married late, and that blessing has been withheld, so we comfort ourselves with cousins and close friends to fill the spot.

School and Work:

I was homeschooled through all the school I ever had up until last August, when I enrolled in college. I took a break after graduating from high school, and am currently in my second semester of college, working on a technical (just two years - thank the Lord) degree in Web Development. I hope to one day have my own home bussiness designing web sites and selling my crafts. Until then, or, 'for right now', I work at the Christian Academy our church started. I am employed as an after-school helper, basically babysitting the children until a relative or friend picks them up.
Both school and work stretch me to my limits, and challenge my dedication and sanity, but if one of my classmates, one of my instructors, or one of my precious little 'charges' can see the Lord in me and be drawn to Him, it will be WELL worth it!

Hobbies, Interests, and Random:

I have lots of hobbies and interests. I love to work with my hands! I love to craft, garden, work with animals, about anything associated with old-time farm/ranch life.
I crochet, knit, sew (though in all honesty, I don't enjoy it - I just enjoy the finished products ;) ), quilt, embroider, and crosstitch. My Dad's a carpenter so I do a little wood-working, I have lots of odds-and-ends type of projects I enjoy, and I'm always on the look-out for something new to learn!

I LOVE to read! My favorite books are Christian historical fiction, well-written biographies, and other 'spiritually edifying material', though I enjoy that better if it's not too dryly written :].

I am fascinated by people's eyes! At any given moment I could tell you the detailed eye color of just about any person I know (Don't laugh, eyes are the windows to a person's soul)

I like hour-glasses. I have no idea why, but from the time I was a small child, they have always mesmerized me!

(Will continue working on this page a little along )
(Sorry the shades of green and sizes of text are so strange - I can't seem to get that to work right for some reason...)
